Unbeaten world champion Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga is impressively on weight six weeks before he defends his International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight title against Adrian Curiel Dominguez from Mexico in a voluntary defence.

The 24-year-old Nontshinga, who defeated Regie ‘Filipino Phenom’ Suganob from the Philippines in his first title defence two months ago, is scheduled to fight against Dominguez at the Casino de Monte Carlo in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on Saturday, 4 November.

“Six weeks out and our weight is pretty much on point,” Nontshinga’s trainer Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan said after his boxer tipped the scales at 55,70kg.

Nontshinga has won all his 12 fights with nine of those ending prematurely while Dominguez has a professional record of 22 wins (three stoppages), four defeats and a draw.

Nontshinga’s bout against Dominguez is going to be the co-main event together with Joe Cordina’s clash against Edward Vasquez from the United States.

Cordina from Cardiff, Wales, will be making the second defence of the IBF junior-lightweight title he won after he stopped Japanese boxer Kenichi Ogawa in June last year. Cordina outpointed Tajik Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov in his first defence five months ago.
