It was a winning start for Frenchman Fernando da Cruz as Kaizer Chiefs coach after he led Amakhosi to a 3-1 win over Kruger United in a Betway Premiership opener at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday evening.
Both sides were tied at 1-1 at the end of the first half with Flavio da Silva having given Chiefs an early lead in the seventh minute before Khethukuthula Ndlovu equalised for United on the stroke of half-time.
Wandile Duba restored Amakhosi’s lead 12 minutes into the second half. Andine minutes later, Duba completed his brace as he made it 3-1.
