Chippa United technical adviser Vladislav Heric believes that a point is better than nothing as the Chilli Boys are fighting to remain in the DStv Premiership.
The Chilli Boys were held to a goalless draw by Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Sunday afternoon.
This is a valuable point for the Eastern Cape-based Chilli Boys, who are 15th on the Premiership table.
“We must take a point according to the circumstances. It was very difficult for us to get fouls, corners,” Heric said.
“I’m very pleased with the response from the tactical point of my players. We managed to neutralise those passes of Golden Arrows. We know they are very strong, we pressed them higher. We approached this game like the last game of the league. I think we deserved three points.”
Meanwhile, Arrows coach Mandla Ncikazi is happy with a point even though he would have loved to win the match.
“I thought first half we were very cagey. I think Chippa had better chances in the first half. Our keeper kept us in the match on two occasions. We did well in the second half, we created a few chances. Maybe a draw was a fair result. I’m still proud of the point although I would have loved to have all the points,” Ncikazi said.
