Stellenbosch FC won the inaugural Carling Knockout after they defeated TS Galaxy 5-4 on penalties at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday afternoon.
The match was decided on spot kicks after the two sides had played to a 1-1 draw in two hours of football.
The Rockets were the first to find the back of the net with Lehlohonolo Mojela’s goal three minutes before half-time and Ismail Olivier Toure scored Stellies’ equaliser in the 76th minute.
