Komani boxer Luvuyo Sizani’s dream to fight for a South African title looks set to become a reality in less than four months as there are plans for him to contest the vacant light-heavyweight crown.

Ink Sport has gathered that Sizani, who is rated number one in the light-heavyweight division, is going to face off against second-placed Tyrone Schaper in July.

Ilinge-born Sizani, who is the current African Boxing Union (ABU) SADC light-heavyweight champion, has won seven times and lost once.

Sizani’s last fight was a first round stoppage loss to Jerome Pampellone from the United Kingdom in an International Boxing (IBF) Intercontinental light-heavyweight title bout in New Zealand last August.

With two wins and a draw, Schaper, meanwhile, last fought during a third round knockout victory over Dean Groom in Estcourt in August last year.
