Not so long ago, it looked like African Boxing Union (ABU) minimumweight champion Siyakholwa Kuse won’t fight against unbeaten Zimbabwean boxer Beaven Sibanda any time soon.

However, things seem to have changed now as a reliable source has told Ink Sport that a fight that many boxing followers have been calling for is finally going to happen.

“Kuse is finally going to fight against Sibanda. We will see who is the best boxer between the two,” our source said.

Contacted for comment, Mla Tengimfene, who manages Kuse, said: “There’s nothing we can say at the moment other than our mission is to climb up in world ratings.”

Kuse, who is trained by former South African flyweight champion Makazole Tete at All Winners Boxing Club in Mdantsane, is also the reigning SA minimumweight titlist.

Mdantsane-born Kuse has won six fights with three of those wins being stoppages, two losses and a draw.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Sibanda from Harare in Zimbabwe has won all his six fights with two victories coming from stoppages.
