It has been confirmed that Siyakholwa Kuse from Mdantsane will face off against Zimbabwean boxer Beaven Sibanda at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park on Saturday, 15 June.

A vacant IBF Africa strawweight title is going to be at stake when the African Boxing Union (ABU) minimumweight champion attempts to become the first boxer to inflict defeat on unbeaten Sibanda.

Trained by former South African flyweight champion Makazole Tete at All Winners Boxing Club in Mdantsane, Kuse is also the reigning SA minimumweight titlist.

Kuse will go to the fight on the back of an eighth round stoppage win over Tanzanian boxer Khalid Kalama Ally in December last year while Sibanda outpointed Mthokozisi Ngxaka in September.

Mdantsane-born Kuse has won six fights with three of those victories being stoppages, two defeats and a draw. Sibanda from Harare in Zimbabwe has won all his six fights with two wins coming from stoppages.
