Uppercut Promotions boss Cyril Lehong was all smiles at the OR Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park on Monday.
It’s easy to figure out why Lehong was smiling as Filipino boxer Jonathan Almacen and his trainer Joemarie Gamboa (pictured) landed ahead of Saturday’s tournament.
The arrival of Almacen and Gamboa meant a lot to Lehong as he could see that his maiden tournament set for the Booysens Boxing Gym in Johannesburg is happening for real.
