It has become clear that Mbekweni-born 2016 Olympic silver medallist Luvo Manyonga never blew more than R80 million as he never had that kind of money.
The 33-year-old Manyonga, who now stays in Komani, Eastern Cape, was said to have blown R84m in debauchery and drugs.
“The show said I blew R84 million, but that figure is not correct. I think the editor forgot to put a comma. It was actually R8,4 million. But it’s fine because whatever the amount, I still blew it,” Manyonga said during an interview on Radio 2000’s Game On show on Thursday evening.
Manyonga, who won a silver medal in long jump at the 2016 Rio Olympics, whose parents were originally from Mhlanga village in Cacadu didn’t hide the fact life is difficult nowadays.
“Right now, I don’t have anything. I actually rely on the R350 from President Ramaphosa. I’m restarting my life,” Manyonga revealed.
