A win for Sikho ‘Sequence’ Nqothole in his next fight, which is against Namibian Jafet Amukwa, will be very important in his bid to remain in the top ratings of the world’s four big boxing organisations.

Mthatha-born Nqothole clashes with Amukwa in a Boxing 5 Promotions tournament at the Box Camp Booysens in Johannesburg on Friday, 20 September.

Nqothole’s career somehow suffered when he lost to Mexican boxer Rene Calixto Bibiano in Mexico more than three months ago.

“I won the fight, just that I was fighting at his home town,” Nqothole said referring his fight against Calixto.

Currently, Nqothole is rated 17th by the World Boxing Council (WBC), 12th in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) ratings and 15th in the World Boxing Organisation (WBO). – Monwabisi Jimlongo
