Stellenbosch FC started their CAF Confederation Cup Group B campaign with a loss as they were defeated 2-0 by Stade Malien at the 26 March Stadium in Bamako, Mali, on Wednesday evening.
A goal in each half from Haman Mandjan and Daouda Coulibaly were enough to give the Malians a positive start to their campaign.
The Malians led 1-0 at half time through Mandjan’s 15th minute goal and Coulibaly put matters beyond Stellies’ reach when he made it 2-0 in referee’s added time.
