Proteas fast bowler and allrounder Marco Jansen led from the front as he showed his viciousness, picking up seven wickets as the South Africans restricted Sri Lanka to 42 all out in the second day of the first Test at Kingsmead in Durban on Thursday afternoon.
This was the lowest innings total in Sri Lanka’s cricket history as they eclipsed their previous lowest total of 71 against Pakistan in Kandy three decades ago. The 24-year-old lanky Jansen, who turns out for Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the domestic league, leaked only 13 runs from 6 ,5 overs. Klerksdorp-born Jansen stands a very good chance of picking up more wickets as the Test is only on its second day going for five days.
