Boxing South Africa’s Women in Boxing programme is set to be launched at the JCC House Auditorium in Milpark, Johannesburg, at 10am this coming Friday.
The focus is going to be strategic programmes, which are aimed at empowering women in the fistic sport. This launch is aligned with Women’s Month in South Africa, a time dedicated to celebrating and accelerating gender equity across all sectors in the country.
Stakeholders are going to be brought together to consolidate efforts toward the Women in Boxing agenda, a national initiative aimed at elevating the role of women in the fistic sport from athletes to administrators.
“This is more than an event. It’s a declaration of intent. Boxing SA is investing in long-term, sustainable development for women in boxing, and we’re calling on media, sponsors and partners to join us in this journey,” BSA board member Rina Subotzky, the chairperson of the Women in Boxing committee, said.
Regional and national tournaments are scheduled to be held starting from next month until March next year.
