Some boxing followers doubted his decision when he moved up two divisions, but Terence ‘Bud Crawford knew exactly what he was doing as he outpointed Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, United States of America (USA) on Sunday morning, South African time.

All three judges nodded in agreement saying that Crawford from Nebraska in the US had done enough to dethrone the Mexican.
Judge Steve Weisfeld scored the fight 116-112 with Max de Luca and Tim Cheatham scoring it 115-113 on their scorecards.

As a result of his unanimous decision victory over Alvarez, Crawford, who fought beautifully in the first seven rounds of the bout, walked away with the World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) super-middleweight titles.

The 37-year-old Crawford is now the first male boxer to win an undisputed title in three weight divisions in the four-belt era as he took his professional record to 42 wins with 31 stoppages.

On the other hand, the 35-year-old Alvarez from Guadalajara in Mexico dropped to 63 wins with 39 knockouts, three losses and two draws.
