Eastern Cape boxer Siyakholwa Kuse will make a triumphant return to his Mdantsane home in KuGompo City on Saturday morning, just a week after he made world boxing history.

Kuse wrote his name into the history books when became the fourth South African boxer to wina World Boxing Council (WBC) title after he dethroned former minimumweight champion Melvin Jerusalem from the Philippines at the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, last Saturday. 

In the process, Kuse, who celebrated his 27th birthday, also made history by becoming the first boxer from the Eastern Cape to rule in the WBC. 

Kuse is due to land at the King Phalo Airport at 9am and then go to the KuGompo City Hall where a ceremony to welcome him home is going to be held.

Thereafter, a motorcade will take him to Mdantsane passing by Ziphunzane then stop at the Mdantsane Mall in NU 9, NU 13 Shopping Centre, NU 8 Boxing Gym and then finally attending the Ground Up Sports Promotions tournament at the Jan Smuts Stadium in the afternoon.
