Boxing South Africa (BSA) has announced the appointment of Tshegofatso Thobedi as its new communications, media and liaison officer.
Thobedi succeeds former Chippa United and Kaizer Chiefs media officer Luthando Zibeko, who had joined the fistic regulator two years ago.
“Boxing South Africa (Boxing SA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Tshegofatso Thobedi as its new mommunications, media and liaison officer, effective immediately,” a BSA statement said on Tuesday afternoon.
According to BSA, Thobedi is a former journalist who worked for Roodepoort Record and Northsider at Caxton Newspapers before joining the boxing regulator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science from the University of South Africa.
“Boxing SA welcomed her appointment, noting that her communication skills, media experience and ability to engage stakeholders will strengthen the organisation’s public engagement and storytelling efforts,” the statement added.
The BSA statement concluded: “The organisation also extended its appreciation to outgoing communications, media and liaison olfficer Mr Luthando “Trompies” Zibeko for his contribution in building and shaping the role within Boxing SA.”
