Ayabonga ‘JayJay’ Sonjica’s inactivity will continue as his fight against unbeaten Nigerian opponent, Taiwa Agbaje, which was due to take place on Friday next week, is not happening anymore.
Duncan Village-born Sonjica, a former South African junior-featherweight champion, was scheduled to leave South Africa for Nigeria on Tuesday next week.
“My fight is off. Apparently, my opponent has a contract with another promotion,” the 35-year-old Sonjica revealed.
With the fight having been called off, this means that Sonjica, who last fought when he defeated Rofhiwa Nemushungwa via a unanimous points decision in November, will have to wait a little longer before getting action.
