After they knocked Kaizer Chiefs out of the MTN8 following a 1-0 win at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Sunday evening, Lamontville Golden Arrows have set up a semi-final clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Khulekani Shezi scored for Arrows eight minutes into the second half to take Abafana Bes’thende to the last four stage of the competition.

On the other hand, the Brazilians advanced to the semi-finals after they earned a 3-2 extra time win over Polokwane City at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville west of Pretoria on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United are going to play against defending champions, Orlando Pirates, in the other semi-final encounter after they beat AmaZulu 4-3 in a quarter-final match played at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban on Sunday evening.

This match had to go to extra time after the two sides were 3-3 in regulation time. Usuthu’s goals came from a Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya brace and a strike by Tariq Fielies while Tshepo Mokoena, Givemore Khupe, Mpho Rammala and Vuyo Letlapa netted for Babina Noko.
