Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has picked up a few things, which he wants to work on after Amakhosi beat Baroka FC 2-1 in a DStv Premiership clash at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Wednesday evening.
Chiefs were exceptional in the beginning of the first half and could have scored a lot of goals, but their poor shooting resulted in them missing many opportunities.
“First half, credit to the players, they did a good job. Their passing was great. We should have got 4 or 5-0, and we didn’t,” Baxter commented.
The former Bafana Bafana coach got worried when he saw how his players responded after Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele scored to make it 2-1.
“And then when they scored there’s panic. And l didn’t like that. We had chances to kill the game, then the game lived until the last minute. I will take positives from the attacking side of the game. There’s work to be done,” he said.
Bakgaga coach Matsimela Thoka, meanwhile, blamed poor defending for the loss.
“We threw the game first half. You can say we were a little bit shaky. We were not defending very well. We were not looking like a team that’s ready to play,” Thoka said.
