Female match official Akhona Makalima from Ngqamakhwe in the Eastern Cape has been invited to a referees’ seminar in Doha, Qatar. 

The seminar, which starts on 25 October until the 29th, is earmarked to prepare match officials for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. 

It is going to be attended by candidates from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Confederation of African Football (CAF) and CONCACAF. The seminar will also be used to workshop the use of VAR together with the new laws of the game. 

Meanwhile, Victor Gomes and Zakhele Siwela will also attend a seminar in Doha next month. 

This seminar is going to be attended by match officials from Asia, Africa, CONCACAF and Oceania to prepare them for the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar. The seminar is scheduled to run from 1-5 November.
