It was an easy afternoon for Zolani ‘Last Born’ Tete stopping Iddi Mustafa Ally Said popularly known as Iddi Kayumba at the Booysens Boxing Gym in Johannesburg on Sunday.
The former International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-bantamweight and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) bantamweight belt holder only took 55 seconds to end the fight.
“It’s all about levels. I came here to display the art of boxing. I knew Said won’t take my punches. Firstly, I had to show my levels,” Tete said after the fight.
“I knew that at some point that I would catch him. We planned everything. Said couldn’t take it anymore.”
This was Tete’s first fight in just over two years. Before this duel, he last fought during his stoppage loss to Johnriel Casimero from the Philippines in November 2019.
Tete has already been promised a fight against Commonwealth junior-featherweight champion Jason Cunningham in March next year.
“I’m looking for another fight because this one was a pad workout,” the 33-year-old Mdantsane-born Tete said.
