Watching Kaizer Chiefs struggle to win matches was arguably one of Samir Nurković’s frustrating moments since joining Amakhosi last season.

Unfortunately, there was nothing Nurković could do to help Chiefs during the time, which he has described as a ‘difficult four months’ of his spell at Amakhosi. He was still recovering from a groin injury at the time.

Nurković is now back playing again and has even announced his return by scoring the goal, which gave Chiefs a 1-0 win over AmaZulu at King’s Park in Durban last Wednesday.

‘‘It was a very difficult four months for me,’’ Serbian-born Nurković said.

Truth be told, Nurkovic’s return to playing was not so good as Amakhosi lost 2-0 to Maritzburg United at the FNB Stadium. But he atoned for that in the next match against AmaZulu.

‘‘After a long time, tough three-four months for me, it was nice to be back. It felt fantastic to be back in the field after a long time, after surgery and recovery sessions. I mean doctors and technical team were helping me in that process of four months recovery,’’ he said.

‘‘Like I said a million times that my job is to score goals, thanks God I scored that goal after a long time. The feeling was unbelievably, I’m happy that I made my contribution.’’

Coach Gavin Hunt’s boys are now going to play against struggling Limpopo club Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec at 17h00 on Tuesday following back-to-back wins over AmaZulu and Cape Town City.

And Nurkovic is expected to lead the Chiefs attack when Amakhosi face Vhadau Vha Damani.

‘‘We really don’t have lot of time to think about opponents. We have to focus on ourselves, focus on good fighting spirit. We have to keep the momentum, keep moving forward. I didn’t watch their games, only thinking about ourselves, how we can improve,’’ he said.
