AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy is happy to return to Durban with three points after Usuthu beat Black Leopards 1-0 at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.
Siyethemba Sithebe scored the all-important goal, which took Usuthu to third place on the DStv Premiership standings.
“Another game, another superb performance from Veli (Mothwa). His defence played a sterling role for him to get four clean sheets in a row,” McCarthy said.
“As a coach you can only praise the players for the valiant performance, the tenacity to come to a ground like this and get the three points. We try and get ourselves in the level we know we should be.”
Meanwhile, McCarthy believes that new recruit Thabo ‘Section 10’ Qalinge is going to be an asset at Usuthu. Qalinge made his Usuthu debut during the game against Lidoda Duvha.
“Section 10 since he arrived here he has been impressive. He will only get better and better at training. It’s a first game in a while he has played. He’s gonna play a huge part in the team. I’m happy that he managed to get himself there.”
