Reigning International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-lightweight champion Michael Magnesi successfully defended his title against Scenery Park boxer Khanyile ‘Man Dee’ Bulana at the Palazzetto Valle Martella Zagarolo, Lazio, in Italy on Friday evening.
The Italian stopped Bulana in the first round of a scheduled 12 rounder. Magnesi landed a body punch followed by a shot to the jaw, which dropped Bulana.
Italian referee Sauro di Clementi counted Bulana out to signal the end of the fight even though it looked like the former South African featherweight champion had beaten the count.
The 26-year-old Magnesi has now won all his 19 fights while Bulana suffered his first loss.
