Cape Town City brought Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila to earth beating them 3-0 in a DStv Premiership fixture at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening.
Abdul Ajagun, Tashreeq Morris and Fagrie Lakay scored to give the Citizens three points.
It looked like the Nedbank Cup finalists were going to steal a point in the Mother City when it was goalless in the first 45 minutes. TTM dumped Mamelodi Sundowns out of the Nedbank Cup last weekend.
However, things changed in the second stanza with the Citizens taking the lead through Ajagun in the 58th minute. Morris added the second goal in the 89th minute with Lakay making it 3-0 just as the referee was preparing to blow the final whistle.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu’s march continued as they beat TS Galaxy 2-1 at King’s Park in Durban.
Lehlohonolo Majoro netted a brace while Lindokuhle Mbatha scored for the Rockets.
