Cape Town City coach Jan Olde Riekerink is convinced that Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila came to Cape Town to look for a point on Saturday.
The Citizens thrashed Vhadau Vha Damani 3-0 in a DStv Premiership match at the Cape Town Stadium with goals from Abdul Ajagun, Tashreeq Morris and Fagrie Lakay.
“It was obvious that TTM came for one point. It was always difficult to score. We got stronger and stronger in the first half. Second half we put a more offensive midfield. We did very well, third win in a row,” Riekerink said.
The Dutchman will hope to get the same results when the Citizens host AmaZulu on Wednesday (17h00). Usuthu are doing exceptionally well and the fact that they are second on the Premiership table bears testimony to that.
“We got AmaZulu in our next game. We still have nice goals for the end of the season,” Riekerink said.
Meanwhile, TTM coach Mpho Maleka said that they tried their best against the Citizens. But their best was not good enough to get them a point or points.
“We tried our best. It was not our day. We got punished from our own mistakes. Some of the mistakes we have to learn from. We have to dust ourselves and move on,” Maleka said.
Vhadau Vha Damani are going to welcome Bloemfontein Celtic at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday (15h00).
