Steve Barker is hoping that his team Stellenbosch FC will bounce back to winning ways when they clash with Orlando Pirates in a DStv Premiership match at the Danie Craven Stadium in the Cape Winelands on Tuesday (15h00).
Stellies will go to the Pirates match on the back of losses to Maritzburg United and Chippa United at home and away.
“Big game against Pirates. We have shown that we are competitive against any opponent in the league,” the Stellies coach said.
“We need to once again show the resilience and bounce back from the disappointments. We need to show confidence and belief that we are able to achieve. They are competent opponents, with lots of quality all round the field. We are all aware of that. But it is also important that we don’t forget the quality that we have and continue to believe in working hard to achieve what we need to achieve.”
The former AmaZulu and University of Pretoria coach regards all matches as equal thus he believes that their natch against the Buccaneers is going to be a difficult fixture.
Stellie are 12th on the Premiership table with 25 points from five wins, 10 draws and 11 losses while Pirates are fourth with 42 points after winning 11 times, drawing nine and losing five games.
