Former national champion Andre Thysse is preparing papers to appeal a guilty verdict after a Boxing South Africa (BSA) disciplinary committee found him guilty of violating COVID-19 regulations.
The award-winning Thysse was hauled over the coals after he attended a tournament, which was promoted by Jackie Brice in Cape Town last December.
The former South African super-middleweight champion attended the tournament to support his boxer Josh Pretorius during a then vacant SA heavyweight title fight against eventual winner Tian Fick.
“I have been found guilty. I’m busy with papers for my appeal,” the 2016 Promoter of the Year award winner said.
Thysse, who traded under the banner of Real Steel Promotions when he was still a promoter, now manages boxers.
