Zimbabwe came from behind and forced a 2-2 draw with Malawi in a COSAFA Cup match at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium in KwaZakhele, Gqeberha, on Friday afternoon.
Malawi’s Flames took the lead in the 27th minute through Khuda Muyaba and Schumacher Kuwali made it 2-0 five minutes from the break.
The Warriors didn’t give up despite trailing by two goals and their efforts were rewarded with Blessing Sarupinga’s goal in the 62nd minute. Patrick Musaka equalised in the 79th minute.
Thereafter, the Warriors put more pressure on the Flames with Ovidy Karuru, who won the man-of-the-match award, prominent in attack.
This was the Zimbabweans’ second draw in this tournament having drawn goalless with Mozambique on Wednesday.
