Botswana showed South Sudan no mercy beating them 7-0 in a COSAFA Women’s Championship Group B match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Wednesday afternoon.
Botswana won the match courtesy of a hattrick by Refilwe Tholakele with other goals coming from Lesego Radiokanyo, Mokgabo Thanda, Balothanyi Johannes and Masego Montsho.
It looked like Botswana were going to bury the COSAFA Women’s Championship debutants by an avalanche of goals when they led 6-0 at half time.
However, the Sudanese dished out a better performance in the second half to avoid further humiliation.
