Hugo Broos has named a 24-member Bafana Bafana squad ahead of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana.

The Bafana Bafana coach announced the squad in Johannesburg on Tuesday. Broos’ boys face Zimbabwe at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Thursday, 11 November and then clash with Ghana’s Black Stars away in Cape Coast three days later.

On why he selected 24 players instead of the normal 23, the 69-year-old Broos said: “l have 24 players because Victor Letsoalo is suspended for the first game. He will stay with us because we will need him for the second game.”

Percy Tau, who scored a brace in his Al Ahly debut last week, is back in the Bafana Bafana squad after missing back-to-back qualifiers against Ethiopia due to injury.

Meanwhile, in-form Keagan Dolly from Kaizer Chiefs also made a return to the Bafana Bafana squad.

The squad:

Ronwen Williams, Veli Mothwa, Bruce Bvuma, Nyiko Mobbie, Rushine de Reuck, Terrence Mashego, Njabulo Blom, Siyanda Xulu, Njabulo Ngcobo, Sifiso Hlanti, Thibang Phete, Teboho Mokoena, Thabani Zuke, Siphelele Sithole, Yusuf Maart, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Ethan Brooks, Evidence Makgopa, Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Victor Letsoalo, Percy Tau, Keagan Dolly, Pule Mmodi and Fagrie Lakay.
