Ethiopia did Bafana Bafana a huge favour when they drew 1-1 with Ghana in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Thursday.
The Black Stars took the lead when Andre Ayew scored a free kick in the 22nd minute. Ethiopia captain Getaneh Kebede equalised in the 72nd minute.
Ghana now have 10 points after winning three times, drawing once and losing once while the Ethiopians have won one match, drawn one and lost three times.
The Black Stars face Bafana Bafana, who clash with Zimbabwe in Johannesburg at 21h00 on Thursday, in their final qualifier at home in Cape Coast on Sunday evening.
