Award-winning South African referee Victor Gomes has been invited to officiate in the MBS League in Saudi Arabia.

Gomes, 38, will make history by becoming the first South African whistleman to officiate in the MBS League.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation invites match officials, who have been recommended by their continental bodies, to officiate in its matches. In this case, Gomes was recommended by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
