After losing to struggling Marumo Gallants last weekend, SuperSport United captain Ronwen Williams now promises that Matsatsantsa a Pitori are going to rectify their mistakes and give Mamelodi Sundowns a fight.

Matsatsantsa visit the unbeaten and yet to concede Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Wednesday (17h30).

“We’re coming up against Sundowns, they are the champs. They have been doing well throughout the season. They haven’t conceded. It shows that the work they are putting in at the training ground is obviously working for them,” Williams said.

“I’m saying that we are gonna go out there and fight. We’ve got our own ambition and targets. We let ourselves down in our previous result. We wanna go out there and rectify our mistakes. We are not gonna go out there and make it easy for them. We need to get points on the board and close the gap.”

Matsatsantsa, who are eight points behind the Brazilians, go into Wednesday’s match following a shock 2-1 home loss to Gallants. And the Gqeberha-born Williams hope things will go well for them on Wednesday.

“Obviously, we are coming off a disappointing result, a defeat at home. We’ve got a lot of things that we need to fix otherwise we will get smashed in our next game,” the Bafana Bafana skipper said.

Table-topping Sundowns have won eight and drawn twice while Matsatsantsa, who are fourth on the DStv Premiership standings, have won five times, drawn thrice and lost three matches.
