Marumo Gallants were too powerful for TS Galaxy as they beat them 3-1 in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday evening.

Things started to go wrong for the Rockets when match referee Olani Kwinda gave Igor Makitan a straight red card in the 20th minute. This was after Makitan’s bad tackle on Lerato Lamola.

Gallants scored their first goal through Lehlohonolo Nonyane’s header from a Joseph Molangoane free kick in the 33rd minute. Six minutes later, Sibusiso Kumalo made it 2-0 following a simple tap in from Lebohang Mabotja’s cross.

Substitute Letsie Koapeng, who came on for injured Lamola in the first half made it 3-0 in the 85th minute.

Second half substitute Wayde Lekay, who substituted Siphiwe Mahlangu, scored Rockets’ solitary goal.

Raymond Mdaka was in charge of Gallants in the absence of Dan Malesela, who had contracted COVID-19.
