Mamelodi Sundowns embarrassed Orlando Pirates 4-1 in a DStv Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Friday evening.

There was no score in the first 45 minutes even though there were chances that were created. The Brazilians finally found the back of the net through Themba Zwane in the 51st minute.

Zwane scored his fifth goal of the season and his second in two successive matches after Pirates defenders failed to clear Lyle Lakay’s free kick.

Pavol Šafranko rose high and headed past Pirates goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane to make it 2-0 in the 61st minute.

Šafranko from Slovakia completed his brace when he made it 3-0 in the 73rd minute.

Six minutes later, the usual suspect Peter Shalulile netted his 13th goal of the season to make it 4-0.

Fortune Makaringe scored the Buccaneers’ consolation goal just as match referee Victor Gomes was about to blow for full time.
