World Rugby confirmed on Thursday that Australia will host the Rugby World Cup tournament in 2027 and the United States will host the 2031 showpiece.

Australia will become first nation to host three Rugby World Cup tournaments. They have already hosted the tournament in 1987 and 2003.

Hosting the 2027 showpiece means that the Rugby World Cup will return to Australia on the 40th anniversary of the inaugural tournament.

Meanwhile, England is going to host the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup with Australia hosting it in 2029 and the United States hosting the 2033 edition.
