Akani Simbine won a silver medal in the men’s 100-metre at the Commonwealth Games at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, England, on Wednesday evening.

The 28-year-old Simbine finished second in 10,13 seconds behind Kenyan gold medallist Ferdinand Omanyala. 

The Kenyan won the race in 10,02 seconds thus becoming the first athlete from his country to win the 100m in 60 years.
