With fights having been difficult to come by this year, South African female junior-lightweight champion Nozipho Bell can finally afford a smile now that she’s going to lace her gloves again.

Bell is scheduled to defend her SA title in a rematch against Ntombokuqala Tolashe at the Nangoza Jebe Hall in New Brighton, Gqeberha, this coming Sunday.

And the 33-year-old Bell from Walmer in Gqeberha is looking at ending things quicker against the Capetonian.

“We are working very hard to make sure that we win because we don’t know what she’s being doing preparing for this fight,” Bell, who is trained by Mzwandile Sidina, said.

“Remember, she just fought. I’m not going to underestimate her. However, I want to make things easy for myself and make sure that the fight doesn’t go the distance.”

Bell defeated Tolashe on points when they fought for the same title in July last year. And she has not fought since her win over Matshidiso Mokebisi in a vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental female junior-lightweight title fight last December.

Meanwhile, Odwa Gaxa is going to defend his Eastern Cape welterweight title against former SA champion Mziwoxolo Ndwayana in the main supporting bout.
