The Black Stars of Ghana endured some anxious moments before they beat Korea Republic 3-2 in a FIFA World Cup group stages encounter at the Education City Stadium in Doha, Qatar, on Monday afternoon. 

After absorbing pressure from the Koreans, the Black Stars took the lead when Mohammed Salisu scored following a goalmouth scramble in the 24th minute.

Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus headed home after Jordan Ayew whipped in a cross in the 34th minute to double the Black Stars’ lead. 

The Koreans fought back at the beginning of the second half and their efforts bore fruits when Cho Gue-sung headed in to make it 2-1 from Lee Kang-in cross in the 58th minute. Three minutes later, Cho equalised with a header after Kim Jin-su’s cross. 

The Black Stars’ didn’t give up despite the setback and Kudus restored their lead when he completed his brace from a Nico Williams cross in the 68th minute.
