Brazil became the second team to advance to the last-16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals after they beat Switzerland 1-0 in a group stages tie at the Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar, on Monday evening.

Casemiro scored the goal, which separated the two teams after he received a pass from Rodrygo in the 83rd minute.

The Brazilians thought they had scored through Vinicius Junior in the 64th minute, but VAR said no goal as there was an offside during the build-up.

Meanwhile, defending world champions France were the first team to reach the second round of the tournament after they won their first two group stages matches.
