Morocco have knocked Spain out of the FIFA World Cup finals beating La Roja 3-0 on penalties in a last-16 match played at the Education City Stadium in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday evening.

This clash was decided on penalties after the two sides had played to a goalless draw following 120 minutes of football.  

The Atlas Lions have now become the fourth African team to reach the World Cup quarter-finals. Other African teams that have reached the last eight before are Cameroon (1990), Senegal (2002) and Ghana (2010).
