Wales have reached the quarter-finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup after they lashed Australia 40-6 in a Pool C match at the OL Stadium in Lyon, France, on Sunday evening.

Flyhalf Gareth Anscombe, who replaced an injured Dan Biggar, contributed 23 points – six penalties, a drop goal and a conversion. On the other hand, Biggar contributed two points before he left the field injured.

The Welsh scored three tries by Gareth Davies, Nick Tomkins and Jac Morgan while the Wallabies’ six points came from Ben Donaldson’s boot.
