Thobela Nyanda from Mdantsane won the vacant South African female mini-flyweight title after she outpointed Yonelisa Poni at the Wells Estate Multipurpose Hall in Gqeberha on Saturday evening.

This was the second time that Nyanda, a Female Prospect of the Year nominee at the South African Boxing Awards, defeated Poni this year having stopped her at the Ncumisa Kondlo Hall in Peddie six months ago.
