There are no plans for highly-rated and unbeaten lightweight boxer Kaine ‘K9’ Fourie to challenge for the South African title.

This was revealed by No Doubt Management director Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan as some boxing followers believe that Fourie can give current SA lightweight champion Khaya Busakwe a run for his money.

“Kaine has already knocked out Busakwe and can do that again. However, we are not interested. Challenging for the SA title is not in Kaine Fourie’s plans. We have bigger plans for him,” Nathan said.

Fourie stopped Busakwe in the third round during their clash at the Box Camp Booysens, Johannesburg, in June last year. Busakwe has, however, registered three stoppage wins and a points victory since losing to Fourie.

“The other thing is that Katlego Khanyisa could be challenging for the SA title. I can’t match Katlego and Kaine because they are both my boxers. You would also recall that I refused to let my boxers fight for provincial and national titles under the old BSA board. I also refused to work with people who are not honourable,” Nathan said.

Fourie stopped former national featherweight and lightweight champion Lusanda ‘Mexican’ Komanisi in the fourth round last month.
