Phumzile ‘Sweet Chocolate’ Matyhila is looking at his boxer Asemahle ‘The Predator’ Wellem winning his fight against Tanzaniam opponent Selemani ‘Mamba’ Kidunda on Friday evening.

Wellem, who is 23 years old, will be making the first defence of his World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental super-middleweight title when he comes up against the 40-year-old Kidunda.

“We can’t wait for the fight, especially now that we didn’t struggle to make the weight, which our opponent also made with ease. We are coming up against a 40-year-old here,” Matyhila said.

As this is the reigning South African super-middleweight champion’s second visit to Tanzania in less than a year, Matyhila believes that the fight won’t go the distance. In his first visit to the East African country, Wellem won the WBF title after he defeated Tanzanian boxer Twaha Kassimu Rubaha on points in July last year.

“Our opponent will be lucky if the fight goes to the seventh round. We are going to send him to retirement. We are also prepared to go the 12 rounds. We are going to fight for the world title if we win on Friday,” Matyhila said.
