Unbeaten and ambitious Zimbabwe-born minimumweight boxer Beaven Sibanda signed a promotional contract with Golden Gloves on Monday.
The new deal between Sibanda and Golden Gloves was confirmed by both the boxer himself and the promotional outfit boss Rodney Berman.
“Yes, I can confirm that I have signed with Golden Gloves. I feel good, me, I just want to fight,” Sibanda said.
Berman remarked: “The reality is that when there was a hiccup with Vusi, Sibanda went to another gym in the interim. But he has never wanted to leave. He’s with us now.
“I will have a fantastic show in June and I’m putting on Sibanda. He’s training at Brian Mitchell’s gym under Vusi Mtolo. Vusi is a very favourite trainer of mine. We’ve gone through a lot of trouble to put up that gym because I believe he’s probably one, if not the leading trainer in South Africa.”
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Sibanda from Harare has won all his six fights with two of those victories coming from stoppages.
