Highly-rated Eastern Cape boxer Phumelela ‘Truth’ Cafu is not interested in the ‘noise’ being made by Sikho ‘Sequence’ Nqothole about a possible fight between them.

Instead, the reigning South African junior-bantamweight champion has declared that he’s not interested in a fight against Nqothole as his focus is elsewhere.

“It’s strange that Nqothole says he wants to fight against me now. I mean, he ran away when he was offered an opportunity to fight against me last year. He came up with a lot of stories,” Cafu said.

Duncan Village-born Cafu, who is rated in the top 10 of the world’s top four boxing bodies, is aiming high this year as he hopes to achieve more in the fistic sport.

Currently, Cafu is rated ninth by the World Boxing Council (WBC), sixth in the World Boxing Association (WBA) ratings, fourth in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) rates him in fifth spot.

On the other hand, Mthatha-born Nqothole is rated 11th by the WBA, eighth in the IBF and is rated seventh by the WBO.

“I’m not focusing on him anymore. I’m focusing on challenging for the world title because I believe I will get a chance this year. Nqothole knows very well that he will never beat me,” Cafu remarked.
