Damien Durandt expects nothing less than a victory when his boxer Brandon Thysse trades blows with Darrin Rossouw from Gqeberha next week.
Thysse from Germiston in Ekurhuleni clashes with Rossouw in a 10 rounds bout at a Golden Gloves tournament at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park next Friday.
“I have Brandon Thysse fighting next week Friday against Darrin Rossouw. I expect a superb performance from Brandon. He really trained hard for this fight,” Durandt said.
Thysse, the son of the late former South African super-middleweight titlist Andre Thysse, needs to bounce back following a stoppage loss to champion Shervantaigh Koopman in an SA junior-middleweight title contest in September last year.
“He had a real difficult two-and-a-half years. Everything has happened quite nicely over the last four, five months. He’s in a good head space at the moment and I expect a really good performance from him. I think his experience will be too much for Darrin,” Durandt remarked.
