Arresting the slide after two successive losses is one of the most important things in Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni’s mind as he fights against American boxer Raymond ‘Danger’ Muratalla.

Ndongeni clashes with the unbeaten Muratalla in a 10 rounds bout at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on Friday (early Saturday morning, South African time).

Both the former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight champion and Muratalla tipped the scales at 62,18 kilograms during an official weigh-in ahead of the fight.

“We made exactly the same weight and I can tell he knows he’s in for a big fight. I am very positive about this. I have tools to take him off. I am ready to leave everything in the ring. I am coming back with the win,” Ndongeni said.

KwaBhaca-born Ndongeni, who will be ushered into war by Reniel Aponte and Michael Robles from KO Fitness Gym in Miami, lost to American boxers Arnold Barboa Junior and Ernesto Mercado in January this year and last July respectively.

Ndongeni has won 31 fights with 18 of those wins coming from stoppages and he lost four times. On the other hand, the 27-year-old Muratalla has stopped 16 of his 19 victims.
